The Moment of Truth returns for a second series, as Bláthnaid Ní Chofaigh talks to people who have made difficult and life-changing decisions.

We all have to make hard choices in our lives. Sometimes, we agonise over these decisions and seek help from family, friends or from a higher power. For some, religion offers the best moral compass. Others follow their gut feelings. Choices can be clear-cut or ethical quagmires. But either way, they can have life-changing consequences for the person making the decision and those around them.

In this second series Bláthnaid Ní Chofaigh hears the life stories of a former prostitute; a father faced with the decision to donate his dying son’s organs; a mother battling alcoholism; a young man who was told he’d never walk again; a former Scientologist and a young woman who had an abortion.

Series Two – Episode One:  Sunday, 10th November 2013, RTÉ One, 22.30pm

Mia De Faoite grew up in a stable middle-class family in Dublin and trained as a nurse. She had a good job, a young daughter and was in a stable relationship. But within two years Mia was addicted to heroin and working as a prostitute. Mia was on the street for five years before she had an encounter that changed her life forever.
