Hotelier Francis Brennan puts four washing powders to the ultimate test with the help of Glenstal Abbey’s rugby team, and The Consumer Show carries out its own survey to find out just how much Irish fish our major food retailers are selling, with some surprising results.

Series Overview:

The new look Consumer Show returns for a ten-part series with Keelin Shanley taking on some of the issues facing Irish consumers as well as getting to grips with individual viewer’s complaints.  Bill Tyson is joined by new reporters Kathriona Devereux and Tadhg Enright, helping make every penny count, while leaving no stone unturned to investigate
everything from the sale of shoddy goods to the provision of below-par service.

Award-winning journalist Bill Tyson takes on the mammoth detergent industry as he discovers the risks posed to small children by attractively packaged liquid detergent capsules. Blocked airways, burnt corneas and the erosion of lung tissue are just some of the injuries children have sustained in accidents involving these capsules. The Consumer Show reveals exactly how the damage is caused and challenges the industry on inadequate child proofing of these products.
