GREAT LIGHTHOUSES OF IRELAND Ireland’s coastline is notoriously rugged and treacherous, and over 18,000 shipwrecks have been recorded in Irish waters. Many of these wrecks occurred during the 19th century when ships became larger and faster: the sinking of the Queen Victoria on the rocks below the Baily Lighthouse, Co. Dublin is an infamous example. RTÉ One, Sunday 15th May, 6.30pm

THE LIFFEY ***Brand New Series*** The Liffey is an intimate portrait of a river and the people it meets on its way to the sea. The six-part documentary series captures the lives and stories of a diverse group of people who are unified by the river Liffey. Episode 1 focuses on protection and defence and we see the work of Dublin Fire Brigade and the Irish Navy. RTÉ One, Sunday 15th May, 7.30pm
