10 Things To Know About It may be a surprise to know that Ireland is home to 71 species of sharks, skates, and rays, 58 of which are on Ireland’s Red List of Threatened Species. Tralee Bay is a "jewel in the crown" of Irish marine life and home to some of the rarest shark, skate and ray species in Europe.
