RTÉ One announces new Angelus broadcasts, to include a showcase for aspiring Irish filmmakers and artists The one minute daily reflective Angelus broadcast on RTÉ One is one of Ireland’s longest-running programmes, having been aired daily at 6.00pm since the inception of RTÉ television in 1962. Ireland has changed enormously over that time and the nature of the broadcasts has changed with it. They are now changing again.
NATIONWIDE This week on Nationwide, the programme pays a visit to Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford where part of the film Brooklyn was made; reporter Marian Malone meets a Limerick woman who stumbled across a family link to one of the greatest inland waterways disasters in the history of the United States; we look at some of the people and activities of Association of Irish Musical Societies, one of Ireland's most successful amateur organisations; and the programme visits the largest island in the country, Achill Island in County Mayo.
