DOCUMENTARY ON ONE: A HUMANIST MILESTONE Humanist Ceremonies have seen a hundred per cent increase in Ireland in the past year as an increasing number of people chose to celebrate the milestones of life in a non-religious way. The Humanist Association of Ireland offers secular weddings, funeral and naming ceremonies. In order to keep up with the demand for their services, they are working to build up a national network of Humanist celebrants.

ARENA Angelica Houston's ties to Ireland go back to her childhood, from a seemingly-idyllic upbringing in Galway to being the leading lady in roles as diverse as those created by James Joyce and Brendan O'Carroll. Her memoir "A Story Lately Told: Coming of Age in Ireland, London and New York" chronicles her journey from a child taking her father breakfast in bed in St Cleran's in Galway, to understudying for Marianne Faithful in Hamlet, living in the Chelsea Hotel in New York during the heady days of the 1970's to the launch of her career in Hollywood. It's a fascinating life story and today it is featured on Arena.
