50th anniversary of RTE Radio 1’s Christmas Eve Show 9am- 11am This year, it will be 50 years since RTE Radio 1 first broadcast live on the morning of Christmas Eve on Grafton Street. And over the years, there are some wonderful stories. They broadcast in three feet of snow, in arctic conditions and have featured presidents and the best of Irish music, including Gavin James, Glen Hansard and Imelda May. This year, we will have the great Johnny Logan performing - he will do a medley of his Eurovision hits and he will open the show with Driving Home For Christmas.
