DOCUMENTARY ON ONE: THE CHAMP Sports people will tell you it’s not a real sport and actors will tell you it’s not acting, yet pro wrestling requires peak physical fitness and theatrical skills to pull off effectively. In a journey to find the next Irish superstar of the huge global Wrestling business, this documentary enters the world of Irish pro wrestling and tracks the rise of one of its biggest stars ‘Sheamus’ from the small community centers around Ireland to global fame entertaining 50,000 people at Madison Square Garden.
THE BOOK SHOW On the show this week Sinead looks at Young Adult fiction with writer Sheena Wilkinson and David Maybury, Children’s Books Editor at Penguin Ireland as well as double Carnegie medal winner Patrick Ness. Also on the show Sinead visits the Riot Grrl archive in New York as a new book on the movement is published. Riot Grrrl was one of the most influential musical movements in the last 20 years and the archive is curated by Lisa Darns.

BOOK ON ONE: A WEEK IN WINTER by Maeve Binchy 'A Week in Winter' was Maeve Binchy's last book before her untimely death in July 2012. The book is set in a small town on the Atlantic Coast of Ireland. It tells the story of Geraldine Starr, known to everyone as Chicky, who leaves Stoneybridge as a young woman, only to return twenty years later to turn a rambling old Stone House into a hotel, a project which changes her life as well as the lives of those who come to visit.
