DOCUMENTARY ON ONE:Oswald Froze A Moment – Ireland on the day JFK died It's now 9/11 or 7/7 - people remember exactly where they were when they heard of the attacks on the World Trade Centre in New York or on the Underground in London. Before that, it was Lady Diana - people could tell you where they were when they heard that Lady Diana had died in Paris. Before that again, and for a whole generation, it was JFK. "Do you remember where you were when you heard that JFK had been shot?" Everyone did. And in answering that question, the person always gave you some detail - an extra richness of memory that opened up a world to you.

DRAMA ON ONE: Grave Danger Part 3 of a new 4-part mystery serial.
ARENA *Special* On 22nd November Arena will launch a collection of poems, short stories and song lyrics. The book is called New Planet Cabaret and it will be published by New Island. The collection will include the work of regular contributors to Arena and writers who took part in our recent on-air creative writing course, which was taught by performance poet Dave Lordan. Many of the contributors come from backgrounds where access to the arts is not traditional.
BOOK ON ONE This week The Book on One marks the 60th anniversary of the evacuation of the Great Blasket Island in November 1953 with a special archive recording of Dónall Farmer reading Muiris Ó Súilleabháin classic island memoir, ‘Twenty Years a Growing’.
