This season RTÉ presents four RTÉ / Screen Ireland Comedy Pilots.
- Headcases, starring Seana Kerslake, follows four women as they attempt to keep up appearances as they juggle husbands, affairs and gangsters while working in a Northside Dublin hair salon.
- Bump, starring Charlene McKenna, deals with the trials and tribulations of becoming a surrogate for your sister.
- Dad is the story of a middle-aged Dad moving in with his conservative gay sons one-bedroom apartment after his wife has kicked him out.
- Handy tells the tale of two stepsisters specialising in the oddest of odd jobs.
Imagine what it would be like if your Dad moved in with you. Imagine the arguments and the smells. Imagine the hugs and bad food. Imagine how your dad would have no idea of how you live your life – and how wounded he’d be that you’re not interested in how he lives his.
Dad is a mainstream comedy about a middle-aged Dad, Padraig, moving into his conservative son Donal’s one-bedroom flat, after his wife Rosie has kicked him out.
