Series 1, Episode 12.
“I’ve Got Your Back”, a quiz show where you don’t need to know anything – other than how much your friends and family know!
Each week, young contestants (aged 10-12) will be trying to climb up 8 prize levels on the brand new quiz show “I’ve Got Your Back”.
At each level is a prize, and the higher they go, the better the prize on offer.
At each level, the contestant will get a choice of topics. Once a topic is selected, a question will be asked. Straight forward, right? Well, not quite….
Each contestant will have 4 team mates with them, team mates that they cannot see or talk to. They are friends and family members. And the contestant must decide which of the team mates will answer each question.
So knowing the strengths and weaknesses of the team mates is of critical importance.
As the questions are asked, the audience can see Dad praying he won’t be picked to answer a question on ballet. But will the contestant pick his sister, who is looking very sure of himself?
At any stage they can leave with the prize they have, or they can hand it back and play for something better. But if a team mate gets a question wrong, the contestant leaves empty handed.
Each week 2 contestants will try to climb the prize ladder with the help of their friends and families.
In the twelfth show of the series 10 year old Daniel Kelleher from Thomastown, Co. Kilkenny returns from the previous show to pick up where he left off. Last time on the show, Daniel had cleared the first 2 rounds, but refreshed and reenergised, can Daniel go all the way to the top of the prize ladder and unlock Round 8?
Daniel goes to CBS Primary School in Kilkenny and loves heavy metal music. When he’s not blasting out some tunes, he likes to play soccer and rugby, and as he’s from Kilkenny, hurling as well!
On his team are:
His mum Eileen. Originally from Wexford, Eileen works as a receptionist in Mount Juliet Hotel in Kilkenny. Eileen loves the outdoors and her hobbies include swimming, horse riding and fishing.
His mum’s partner, Pete Culverhouse. Pete also works in Mount Juliet and Eileen and Pete are planning to get married in 2018. Pete is a chef and is originally from London. Any foodie questions on the show would be right up his street!
Daniel’s aunt, Tara Monahan. Tara is a horse riding instructor and is based in Mount Juilet Hotel. The hotel must have closed down for the filming of this show!
His cousin Ruth McGrath. Ruth is Tara’s daughter and is 11 years old. Ruth is an award winning horse rider and her pony’s name is Abbey.
Also taking on the challenge is Alanah Donaghy from Finglas, Dublin. Alanah is 10 years old and goes to Gaelscoil Uí Earcáin in Finglas. Alanah runs an online fashion blog with her friends and also has her own Instagram page, where she posts funny videos of her little brother. Oh yes, the joys of having a little brother!
On her team are:
Her mum Nicola. Nicola is a big fan of The Kardashians and yoga! She also enjoys walking, keeping fit and Facebook. So any questions on celebrities and social media might be right up her street.
Her grandmother, Yvonne. She might be a granny, but Yvonne is a big fan of MMA and has a black belt in Taekwondo. Watch your back Conor McGregor!
Her grandmother’s partner, Chris Creagh. Chris is a service engineer and an avid baker. His favourite dish is apple pie, made from the apples growing in his back garden. Perhaps he could handle any culinary questions that may come up in the quiz?
The final member of her team is her cousin Tammy Donaghy. Tammy is 16 years old and is apparently the brains of the family. So she might be the right person to have on the team!
Can either team make it to the top of the prize ladder?
