Join Paddy O’Gorman as he travels the country, meeting and greeting people, and hearing the stories they have to tell.
In the second programme in the new series, Paddy heads to the drive-in bingo, in Gibbstown, near Navan in County Meath. Set in a field which holds up to a thousand cars, the bingo caller calls out the numbers from the side of a large truck on loudspeaker and the lucky punters who get a full house have to honk their horn or flash their lights to collect their winnings. Paddy speaks to keen bingo players from Navan, Cavan and further afield and finds out why so many people are prepared to sit in cars on a rare sunny days with their eyes down and their hand on the horn.
Some of the other stops on Paddy’s tour this series include Dublin Zoo, Blarney and Joe Dolan’s final resting place in Mullingar.
