The Shelter: Animal SOS New Series

This fly on the wall series follows the work at Ireland’s largest animal charity, which recently went national and is now called the NSPCA. Their headquarters in the foothills of the Dublin Mountains, care for all creatures great and small and uniquely are the only animal charity in Ireland with a team of full time Vets.

Filmed over a year, this new series gives the viewer a unique behind the scenes insight into the work at the shelter, from rescue through to rehabilitation and rehoming. Along the way we see the incredible efforts made by a dedicated staff to help animals through their toughest moments.

Episode 2

On this episode, Inspector Tony brings in an emaciated bulldog which is cared for by the Vets and Rehabilitation staff. Lynda and Mikey bring it back to health with a special feeding plan.

Vet Elise works with Volunteer Specialist Surgeon Professor Barbara Kirby to try to save the damaged leg of a one-year-old terrier called Daisy.

Meanwhile the cat care staff look after Princess, a cat with terminal cancer and rehoming manager Christina takes on the challenging role of finding her an end of life home.
