This fly on the wall series follows the work at Ireland’s largest animal charity, which recently went national and is now called the NSPCA. Their headquarters in the foothills of the Dublin Mountains, care for all creatures great and small and uniquely are the only animal charity in Ireland with a team of full time Vets.
Filmed over a year, this new series gives the viewer a unique behind the scenes insight into the work at the shelter, from rescue through to rehabilitation and rehoming. Along the way we see the incredible efforts made by a dedicated staff to help animals through their toughest moments.
The NSPCA are now rescuing animals from all over the country and in this first episode inspector Fiona Conlon from Carlow brings in three dogs in poor condition.
Lurcher Chenzi and her pups are taken in and cared for by the Vet team. Care assistant Ingrid takes them into her rehabilitation department where they get the care they need.
Later in the programme we meet Pip a feisty chihuahua who steals the heart of volunteer Deirdre.
A cat named Afrikaans by South African NSPCA worker Elaine captures the attention of her new owner Tendai who is also from South Africa.
