Episode 2: County Roscommon and County Longford
Doireann Ní Ghlacáin travels to the heart of Ireland’s midlands for two walks steeped in history and quiet beauty. Historian and broadcaster Myles Dungan accompanies Doireann on a powerful journey along part of the National Famine Way, walking the Strokestown Park House loop before continuing to the ancient royal site of Rathcroghan, one of Ireland’s most significant yet little-known archaeological landscapes. Then broadcaster Sinead Hussey joins Doireann to walk along Longford’s scenic greenway from Clondra, leading to the remarkable Corlea Trackway Centre, where a 2,000 year old structure offers a profound connection to Ireland’s ancient past.
