The beloved walking series Tracks & Trails returns this spring for its 13th season, as presenter Doireann Ní Ghlacáin explores Ireland’s most beautiful trails alongside a stellar lineup of Irish personalities.

This five-part series journeys through Louth, Roscommon, Longford, Antrim, Kildare and Dún Laoghaire combining stunning scenery with compelling conversations about heritage, history, and personal connections to the land.

From archaeologists uncovering forgotten histories to musicians finding inspiration in wild places, Tracks & Trails pairs each landscape with voices that bring new meaning to these beautiful walking trails on the island of Ireland.

This isn’t just a walking show. It’s where Ireland’s past, present, and natural world come together and bring us all on a journey. Five Episodes. Six counties. Many stories you haven’t heard before.

Episode 1: County Louth

Broadcaster and journalist Anton Savage joins Doireann on a walk from the ancient woodland of Ravensdale Forest to the charming coastal village of Omeath, taking in sweeping views of Carlingford Lough along the way.

In the second half, archaeologist Paul Gosling brings his deep knowledge of the region to a walk from Slieve Foye Forest Park into the medieval town of Carlingford, uncovering the hidden histories and forgotten stories that lie beneath this breathtaking corner of Ireland.
