Slán go Feoil follows a group of devoted carnivores as they embark on a bold challenge: giving up meat for an entire month. With guidance from expert nutritionists, chefs, and food enthusiasts, they discover the impact of a plant-based diet, changing their relationship with food along the way. Engaging, warm, and humorous, Slán go Feoil presents an exploration of vegetarianism based in three locations: Kerry, Donegal and Belfast.
Episode 1:
Meet our contributors from Donegal, Kerry, and Belfast as they prepare to give up meat for a full month, revealing just how central it is to their daily lives and identities. As they face the reality of the challenge ahead, nutritionist Nóra Ní Fhlannagáin explains how a meat-free diet could impact their health — and whether it might even benefit them. The group put their taste buds to the test in a real-or-fake meat challenge, while Helena and her husband Patrick reflect on their own journey from running a butcher shop to transforming it into a B&B.
Ar Slán go Feoil, feictear grúpa daoine ar breá leo feoil ag féachaint le dúshlán mór a shárú: éirí as feoil a ithe go ceann míosa. Le cúnamh treorach ó bhia-eolaithe, ó chócairí agus ó dhaoine eile ar breá leo bia, foghlaimíonn siad faoin tionchar a bhíonn ag aiste bia atá bunaithe ar phlandaí agus tagann athrú le linn na míosa ar an gcaoi a gcaitheann siad bia. Clár spéisiúil, croíúil, greannmhar é Slán go Feoil ina ndéantar cíoradh ar cheisteanna faoi fheoilséanadh i dtrí cinn d’áiteanna: Ciarraí, Dún na nGall agus Béal Feirste.

Cuirtear aithne ar na rannpháirtithe as Tír Chonaill, Ciarraí agus Béal Feirste agus iad ag ullmhú le héirí as feoil a ithe go ceann míosa ainneoin gur gné lárnach de ghnáthshaol an lae sin acu faoi láthair agus go mbraitheann siad ceangailte go mór leis an bhfeoil. De réir mar is fearr a thuigeann siad an dúshlán atá rompu, míníonn Nóra Ní Fhlannagáin, bia-eolaí, an tionchar a d’fhéadfadh a bheith ag aiste bia saor ó fheoil ar an tsláinte acu — agus an dóigh go bhféadfadh sé leas a dhéanamh dóibh. Déanann an grúpa tástáil ar a gcuid blaslóg féachaint an aithnítear feoil dháiríre agus feoil bhréige óna chéile, agus tugann Helena agus Patrick cuntas ar an athrú ina saol féin nuair a chóirigh siad an siopa búistéara a bhíodh acu ina theach aíochta.
