The geography of Early Music may have begun in Europe, but the global reach of this beautiful music is not a truly global phenomenon. On this morning’s Vox Nostra, we’ll enjoy early music that dips into the various European lands where this style and repertoire first got its toehold, hearing performances by ensembles from all around the world – specialists from countless countries who dedicate themselves to performing and contextualising music from centuries past. We’ll also get to hear how this music resonated and was sometimes transformed in lands outside of Europe, adding to the varied palette of Early Music across the globe.
