Brehon Brewhouse

The McMahon Family has been farming in Killanny, Co.Monaghan for generations. Today, they milk 120 cows across 200 acres of land, but when not in the milking parlour, farmer Seamus McMahon, is busy running a successful craft brewing business.

Darragh McCullough paid a visit to Seamus and his family to discover how they are balancing their farming roots with a growing business both at home and abroad.

Windfarm Bogs

As part of their “Brown to Green” strategy, to transition away from peat-based operations and move toward renewable energies, Bord na Móna have built Wind Farms on Bogs across the country, with proposed plans for more.

Ella McSweeney visited Derryadd Bog, in Co.Longford. One of the three bogs the proposed “Derryadd Wind Farm” will be developed on. But some locals and ecologists argue that instead it should be rewetted, rewilded and restored for nature.
