THE LYRIC FEATURE

The Mirror Lamp Press Radio Edition

What does a magazine sound like? The Mirror Lamp Press magazine showcasing work by Irish and international writers and artists usually exists in words and pictures. But for this edition, the artists have all created radio artwork. In To Olivia, Marian Balfe sends a letter to the overlooked Guinness matriarch, Olivia Whitmore Guinness; Niamh Moriarty & Ruth Clinton’s The Sorriest remixes the public apology; Jay Bernard’s A Tardiness in Nature traces a kinship of the personal and the historical; Basil Al Rawi’s The Image recalls the hold of images of the Gulf War on his younger self; and Lisa Freeman’s radio poem, Piggy features a performance by actor, Pattie Maguire. In this programme, Mirror Lamp Press editors Gwen Burlington and Eoghan MacIntyre listen to and discuss the works with Culture File’s Luke Clancy.

Presenter: Luke Clancy

The programme is a co-production of The Lyric Feature, The Mirror Lamp Press and Soundsdoable.
