Mozart, too often reduced to a simplistic image of a child prodigy or eccentric genius, remains a true musical phenomenon – both surprising and essential. While the myths surrounding him persist, only his music allows us to approach him with real understanding.
Our Full Score concert today traces several stages of his life: Salzburg, with its refined youthful works; Prague, where the majestic Symphony No. 38 was born; and Vienna in 1791, the final year of his life, marked by an astonishing burst of creativity that produced The Magic Flute, the Clarinet Concerto, and the unfinished Requiem. Liz Nolan presents a showcase of unabridged musical masterworks, featuring live recordings of Irish and international performers, plus selections from the latest CD releases.
