ROOM TO IMPROVE ***Final***

EPISODE FOUR (SERIES FINALE) – HARMONSTOWN

Back in 2007, Eimear and Adam Fox bought their first home: a three-bed, mid-terrace former Corporation house in the North Dublin suburb of Harmonstown. Nearly two decades (and two kids) later, the house is short on storage, missing an upstairs bathroom and lacking any real sense of flow — not ideal for a family juggling demanding jobs and busy lives.

Enter architect Dermot Bannon who comes up with an ingenious solution, replacing an existing rear extension with three cleverly designed ‘pod’ spaces all within the original footprint, delivering much-needed storage, improved functionality, a link straight to the garden and a new first-floor bathroom overhead. But in a bid to keep costs down, plumber Adam and his brothers join the build team, much to builder Denis’ dismay, and when Dermot miscalculates a floor level, the couple’s uncertainty over finishes suddenly becomes the least of his worries as he fights to win back their trust!
