Three leading figures on the international music scene-violinist Lisa Batiashvili, cellist Gautier Capuçon and pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet-perform in our Full Score concert, which spans a century of chamber music. Shostakovich’s Trio No. 1, written when the composer was just sixteen, is followed by another early masterpiece, Debussy’s Trio in G major. The journey concludes with Dvořák’s Trio No. 3, a work that epitomizes the composer’s dual allegiance: on one side, the influence of the Classical-Romantic tradition; on the other, his deep connection to folk music and song. Liz Nolan presents a showcase of unabridged musical masterworks, featuring live recordings of Irish and international performers, plus selections from the latest CD releases.
