Tá Daighinis lonnaithe amach ó chósta Fhoirnise i gceantar na nOileán. Sa chlár seo, tabharfainn Michael Pat Phadda Ó Conghaile, fear a rugadh ar an oileán, turas do Threasa Bhreathnach den oileán agus insíonn sé di faoin gcaoi a raibh siad ar an gcéad oileán i gConamara le leictreachas a fháil. Cloiseann muid na scéalta faoi shaol an oileán ó Tomás Ó Lochnáin, fear a fuair mianach ar an oileán agus é óg agus ó Thomas Mac Donnacha, beirt a tógadh ar an oileán.
There are islands scattered around Connemara’s coast, islands that were once inhabited but are now abandoned for one reason or another. In this series, Treasa Bhreathnach visits these islands, bringing to life some of the islanders’ stories as well as exploring the current state of the islands.
Daighinis island is situated out from the coast of Foirnis i gCeantar na nOileán in Conamara. In this programme, Michael Pat Phadda Ó Conghaile, a man who was born on the island, gives a tour of the island to Treasa Bhreathnach and he tells her about how they were the first island in Conamara to get electricity from the mains. We hear stories about island life from Tomás Ó Lochnáin, a man who found a live mine as a child and from Thomas Mac Donnacha, both of whom were born and raised on the island.
