‘Dunne Talking: Christmas Special’
What is success? How is it achieved? And what does it really cost? During Season One of Dunne Talking, former world champion boxer Bernard Dunne put those questions to some of Ireland’s most accomplished sportspeople. In this Christmas special episode, he turns to another famous figure: Donncha O’Callaghan, one of Irish rugby’s most admired players.
Over the course of a long career in provincial, international and Lions rugby, Donncha became known for his consistency, his influence within the dressing room and the energy he brought to every team he played with. In this interview, he reflects on the experiences that shaped him on and off the pitch – growing up in Cork and finding his place in a professional squad, the challenges of elite competition, the lessons he learned from teammates and coaches, and the family who supported him. Along the way Donncha speaks candidly about resilience, identity and life after professional sport, as well as his long-standing commitment to UNICEF and the values that underpin it.
Dunne Talking is a Pegasus Media production with Bernard Dunne for RTÉ
