THE FULL SCORE WITH LIZ NOLAN

Today’s Full Score concert celebrates youth-of both performers and composers. At just 25 years old, Finnish conductor Tarmo Peltokoski is already captivating audiences and orchestras alike. Appointed Music Director of the Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse last year, he brings both brilliance and freshness to the podium.

Peltokoski’s passion for orchestral music was first sparked when he discovered Wagner on YouTube-an origin story that feels fitting for a conductor of his generation. Among his artistic heroes is Gustav Mahler, who composed his Symphony No. 1 at the youthful age of 28 – a work we’ll hear in today’s performance. Liz Nolan presents a showcase of unabridged musical masterworks, featuring live recordings of Irish and international performers, plus selections from the latest CD releases.
