Series Overview

The popular Fleadh Cheoil series returns on Friday 24th October, showcasing the very best of Irish traditional music from Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2025. For its second and final year, the Fleadh takes place in the sunny southeast, in the beautiful historic town of Wexford – and it did not disappoint! Across six episodes, viewers are taken on a lively ramble through Wexford town, enjoying street sessions and immersing themselves in everything that makes the Fleadh so special. Returning to guide audiences are RTÉ star Dáithí Ó Sé and acclaimed musician Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh.

Together, they meet a host of locally and internationally renowned musicians, including Michael Flatley, local group Cuckoo’s Nest (Maureen Codd and family), Megan McGinley and Marty Barry, Foster and Allen, Aoife Scott, Andy Irvine, and this year’s Senior Céilí Band Champions, Glór na dTonn. The series captures the craic, colour and ceol of Ireland’s biggest traditional music festival, bringing viewers straight into the heart of Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann 2025. Gardaí estimate that up to 850,000 people visited Wexford town over the eight-day celebration. The pride of the Wexford people – and of doting parents – is clear, as children and adults take part in spectacular events such as Meitheal Summer School, the Guinness World Record attempt in Wexford Park, and the many competitions that are integral to the Fleadh. Visitors and residents alike are joined by colourful characters enjoying spontaneous sessions amidst the glorious August sunshine, with Wexford town itself providing a stunning backdrop. Exciting performances to look forward to include Damien Mullane and Seán O’Meara, Piaras Ó Lorcáin, Neansaí Ní Choisdealbha agus cairde, Muintir Uí Mhaolagáin, Ademar O’Connor & Michael Fearon, Micheál agus Méabh Uí Raghallaigh, Conal Ó Gráda, the Rowesome Piping Quartet, and many more.
