THE LAST IRISH MISSIONARIES***LAST IN THE SERIES***

At its peak in the 1960s, over 6,000 Irish Catholic missionaries were dispersed over 80 countries. Today there are fewer than 500. Dearbhail McDonald and Bryan Dobson travel to Kenya and The Philippines to visit Irish priests, still active in the field in their 80s after decades of heroic service. They also explore the long-term impact of the missionary movement, for better and for worse, and ask the question: who, or what, if anyone, will replace the last Irish missionaries?
