An Taobh Tuathail (ATT), RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta’s flagship alternative radio show, presented by Cian Ó Cíobháin turns 26 on the first evening of May 2025. The acclaimed music show, described by Gruff Rhys of Super Furry Animals in The Irish Times as “one of the most radical radio shows in the world”, has been broadcasting every Monday to Friday on the national Irish-language station since 1st May 1999. For this year’s special, the focus will be on Manchester’s iconic Factory Records label. Between 1978 and 1992, the label released some of the most groundbreaking works of the late 20th century from artists like Joy Division, New Order, The Durutti Column and Happy Mondays.
