Born on this day 1947, the legendary American composer John Adams has been a towering presence in the contemporary classical world for five decades. Sometimes courting controversy, but with an unwavering sense of social justice, his works often take real-life events as sources of inspiration. We’ll hear some excerpts from his opera The Death Of Klinghoffer, and a few high octane orchestral adventures.
