Shirley Keane presents today’s Full Score. In our concert, the Irish Chamber Orchestra, directed by their chief conductor, Thomas Zehetmair, present an eclectic programme that mixes new work with traditional favourites, including Vaughan Williams’ gorgeous, ethereal Fantasia and Mozart’s Symphony No. 40. At the heart of the concert is the Irish premiere of a new work by composer Errollyn Wallen. Inspired by traditional dance forms like the sarabande and the waltz, Dances for Orchestra is a suite of contrasting dances filled with infectious melody and propulsive rhythms.
