The festive premiere 10 minute double episode, A Fairy Island Christmas, will air this Christmas on RTÉjr, with episodes also available to stream on the RTÉ Player.
“When Banba’s EV ranger runs out of power on Christmas Eve, Fia and Ameer must race to
deliver lanterns across Fairy Island to ensure Daidí na Nollag can find everyone in time for
the big day, proving that teamwork and kindness are the real Christmas magic.”
This exciting new season, set to continue airing from the Spring of 2025, introduces Julia
Dillon as the voice of Fia, alongside returning star Elsie Akinduko as Ameer. Joining the cast
is Cara Mannix, playing the voice of Fairy Island’s newest resident, Rua, an adventurous fox
who adds extra sparkle and mischief to the daily magical adventures.
As an extra Christmas present, viewers can also enjoy a karaoke-style sing-along of Deck
The Halls (Cuileann Sna Hallaí), which will begin broadcasting on December 8th at 7:48 a.m.
on RTÉjr, and will also be available on the RTÉ Player. Additional sing-along songs as
Gaeilge, such as Bualadh Bos (Jingle Bells), can be found on the official Fia’s Fairies
YouTube channel.
The first season of Fia’s Fairies was a runaway success, winning the Preschool Audience
Choice Award at the Irish Animation Awards in 2022 and capturing the hearts of young
viewers across Ireland. Season One continues to be a firm favourite on RTÉjr both in homes
and in classrooms across the country, with its heartwarming storytelling and playful
introduction to the Irish language.
Produced by Little Moon Animation, the series (now 52 x 5-minute episodes) is supported by
Fís Éireann/Screen Ireland, RTÉjr, Coimisiún na Meán, and the Irish Film Industry tax
incentive.
