SPOKEN STORIES The State of Us on Sunday 15th December at 7.30pm on RTÉ Radio 1
Sarah by Elaine Feeney and read by Jeanne Nicole Ní Áinle.
Description:
It is early morning in their city flat. Sarah lies awake beside her husband, Ian, their expectant baby between them. She didn’t like being alone but like it was needed, she had asked that they would be silent this morning as she got herself ready for the day ahead. She wanted to sleep properly again. To love Ian, again. Everyone she loved, and some she hardly knew, hoped O’Dowd would get what he deserved as though it could be served – justice, as though it would change anything about her life now, as though Sarah could be recalibrated like a car engine.
