Soprano Irina Lungu stars as the self-sacrificing courtesan Violetta, one of opera’s ultimate heroines, in tonight’s production of Verdi’s beloved tragedy from the Opéra Royal de Wallonie, Liège. Tenor Dmitry Korchak is her self-centred lover Alfredo, alongside baritone Simone Piazzola as his disapproving father, and Maestro Giampaolo Bisanti on the podium conducting the orchestra and chorus of the Royal Opera of Wallonie.
