The first day of Samhain – the season of drawing close to the fire, sharing stories and songs, and tucking in for the long winter nights. Fraser Fifield’s new album ‘One Great Circle’ is inspired by the Aberdeen-born storyteller, piper, ballad singer, author and member of a prominent traveller family, Stanley Robertson. His way of speaking, the imagery he evokes, and his thoughts on re-incarnation inspired this considered album and informed its title. We hear the beguiling music and meet Fraser who explains its creation and the close connection he feels with Stanley, though they never met.
