Episode 7: Rhythm
Artist Claire Breen joins us in studio and guides us through mapping the rhythm of our bodies to create large-scale art. We meet a Dublin School who’ve turned chairs into art.
Series Synopsis:
The TIA! studio has set up home in the RHA School (Royal Hibernian Academy) in Dublin with special studio visits and masterclasses from artists like Blaise Smith, Una Sealy, Vivienne Roche and Deborah Donnelly who share their top tips for making incredible art.
Each week, we’ll be exploring some of the different elements of art – like balance, symmetry, harmony, unity, movement, proportion, scale, contrast, composition, repetition and rhythm. We’ll be learning what the rules are…and of course, how to break them!
Artist-in-residence Ross Carvill has been let loose around the country where he’ll set out on some unusual art making adventures with local youngsters exploring how the world around us can influence the art we make.
As usual our team of young Art Club reporters will be catching up with all sorts of projects and art-happenings across the land. We’ll be checking in with young creators and craftspeople who showcase their skills in puppetry, woodturning, lace and felt making.
