The Four Sea Interludes are excerpts from one of Benjamin Britten’s most outstanding works. In Peter Grimes’ opera, the sea shines in the sun, storms and roars, engulfs victims and casts them ashore, reflecting the emotions of the characters. Claude Debussy gazed eagerly into the sea’s boundlessness and created the triptych, La Mer. Paolo Bortolameolli conducts the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra, Katowice.Liz Nolan presents a showcase of unabridged musical masterworks, featuring live recordings of Irish and international performers, plus selections from the latest CD releases.
