Heated *New Series*

Farmer and journalist Hannah Quinn Mulligan, Lecturer in Environmental Geography Dr Michelle McKeown and Social Entrepreneur and activist Ronan O’Dalaigh return for a second series of Heated.

1. Farm waste to Fence Posts

As well as producing food, the farms of Ireland produce some 40,000 tonnes of plastic waste each year. Once upon a time this might have been burned on farms …. but now a programme of recycling and the inventiveness of one County Clare has created a perfect circular economy.

2.Pocket Forests

Talk of saving the planet by planting trees is all very well … but you can’t grow a native forest in your urban back yard or at your workplace – or can you??

3. Solar Meitheal

Why isn’t every roof in Ireland covered in solar panels? The high up front cost is often quoted as one of the main barriers and lack of confidence can play a role as well.  But what if a community could come together to get the best advice, and the best value. It could just give them the power they need to jump start a solar revolution.
