EPISODE SYNOPSES 

EP 1 

A Bedouin Dream (RTÉjr, Ireland)  – Monday 16 September

Nine-year-old Isra is proud of her Bedouin heritage and dreams of camping in the desert. But she and her parents are evicted from their home without having anywhere else to stay. Just as all hope appears lost, Isra’s camping dream inspires her father and they end up living in a tent in a nearby wood. Isra is delighted with the camping life but, when they have to leave suddenly, her idyll is shattered. Luckily, her mother has a plan to resurrect her Bedouin dream. 

Short Version: 

A story of imagination, belonging and the true meaning of home. 

EP 2 

Big Little Brother (SR, Germany) – Tuesday 17 September

Denis is ten years old and wants nothing more than to be as sporty and popular as his big brother Markus, but his lack of skill – and height – work against him. When Denis discovers a pastime that allows him to play to his strengths, he can face Markus with new self-confidence. Although just as small on the outside as he was before, Denis has grown quite a bit on the inside – and he can be mighty proud of that. 

Short Version: 

Unsuccessful at basketball, Denis discovers another pastime that allows him to play to his strengths.

EP 3 

Cloe, Warp and Weft (BBC ALBA, Scotland)  – Wednesday 18 September

Cloe yearns for family unity, but life’s challenges are getting in the way. When she discovers her missing grandmother in a hidden workshop filled with sewing machines and fabrics, her world turns upside down. As their world literally collapses around them, Cloe and her granny face a perilous journey, with the promise of a colourful future if they can pull through. 

Short Version: 

Cloe yearns for family unity, but life’s challenges threaten to separate her from her granny. 

EP 4 

On the Tips of the Toes (RTS, Serbia) – Thursday 19 September

Lena is a Roma girl who spends her days playing hip-hop on the streets with her friends. One day, she accompanies her mother to the theatre where she works and discovers ballet for the first time. Lena dreams of becoming a ballerina, however her mother warns her that the path to becoming a ballerina is difficult, and that as a Roma girl, she will face even greater challenges. Will Lena overcome these prejudices and pursue her dream?
