Dimitri Tiomkin was one of Hollywood’s golden age composers who worked regularly with directors Frank Capra and Alfred Hitchcock but also gained fame for his Western scores, including High Noon and Duel in the Sun which Aedín features this afternoon. Staying out west with a great recording of the complete original score of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s musical Oklahoma from The Sinfonia of London under John Wilson. The Oscar award-winning song from The Motorcycle Diaries, Sondheim songs from Follies and Spanish film music from Broken Embraces.
