There’s a healthy bloom about the new Irish jazz and improvised music garden, and this week I’ll sample a few of the recent and very fine releases. Music by Stella Bass, Cormac O’Brien, Tommy Halferty and Izumi Kimura. Also a wonderful new album from Conor Caldwell and Ryan Molloy, Oh, Listen To The Band, the sound of Ireland’s Roaring Twenties, bridging the gap between traditional tunes and jazz.
