On June 7th 2024, the city and county of Limerick will vote to directly elect a Mayor for the first in the history of the state. What will this mean for the people of Limerick, and could this unprecedented election transform how counties across Ireland are governed?
Upfront with Katie Hannon will be live from Limerick, for the show’s first outside broadcast, to discuss the issues and meet some of the candidates in a live TV debate ahead of Ireland’s first directly elected mayoral election. This TV special will be broadcast from the Lime Tree Theatre on the campus of Mary Immaculate College on RTÉ One and RTÉ Player on Monday May 27th at 10.35pm.
In the final episode of this series, Upfront will continue its lively audience driven format and candidates in the upcoming election will answer questions submitted from the public.
