Series Overview
In an era where the definition of what a man is has come under severe scrutiny, Jordon Conroy will try and take 10 boys from different socio/economic background and with different interest and attempt to help them discover what makes a true man in a modern world. Given just two weeks to learn and practice the game of Rounders for the first time, they will have to play the All Ireland Rounders Champions in Croke Park!
Along the way they will meet an array of different people, with different skill sets who will help guide them not just to hone their sports skills but more importantly than that, to illuminate the path to adulthood and broaden the definition of what makes a real man.
But these boys, in their ordinariness, are truly inspirational. Jordon is taken aback by their honesty, by their thoughtfulness and by their emotional intelligence. in many ways Jordon becomes the pupil.
Their collective journeys reveal a quite unexpected outcome.
Episode 6.
The day has come! It has been kept from the boys all along that they will be playing their match in Croke Park. They are nervous enough. Later today it will be revealed to them. As they attempt to quell their nerves, Jordan has invited 8 times all Ireland winning Dubliner Kevin McManamon to offer final thoughts on how to handle pressure. Their personal growth is evident. But will they be able to handle the pressure. As the bus leaves and makes it’s way, some of the boys notice that the cauldron that is Croke Park is looming large. Jordon breaks the news, that their family are waiting for them and that they will be playing in Croke Park. Their bond is unbreakable. The first couple of innings are not the romantic version of films. They do not outplay the All Ireland winners. They are being pummelled. They must look inward. All those conversations they had together. All the honesty and emotional intelligence they displayed, is it for nothing? What happens next will not leave a dry eye in the house!
