AUTISM SUPPORT
Stories of those with Autism and of the efforts by communities to support them. We hear about the efforts in Cork to get shops and businesses to be more aware of issues concerning those with autism. Plus, in County Kildare we meet a mother and daughter whose bread-making business started at the kitchen table and is going from strength to strength.

Aisling O’Toole and her autistic daughter run a successful bread making business which started during Covid when daughter Catherine ended up at home due to the curtailment of services. Mary Fanning went to Kildare to hear their story.
FÁILTE PROGRAM / REPORT MARIAN MALONE
Autism Assistance Dogs Ireland recently created the “Fáilte Program”, an educational online course designed to recognize and validate businesses that are accommodating towards autism assistance dogs and their handlers. Marian Malone went to Cork to find out more.

NATIONAL MUSEUM OF IRELAND-COUNTRY LIFE IN COUNTY MAYO
We visit the National Museum of Ireland-Country life in Turlough, just outside Castlebar in County Mayo. This Museum opened in 2001 and is the only one of Ireland’s National Museums outside of Dublin. It was originally established to display their expanding folklore collection, most of which was in storage and needed a permanent home. It includes 30 acres of parkland with woodland walks and a greenway that takes you to Castlebar. The state-of-the-art facility has four floors of galleries to showcase the thousands of objects, collected by the folklore commission from the 1850’s to the 1950’s. We meet some of the people who work there and hear stories about the thousands of objects on display, that have been collected over the last century.

HOUSE AND COTTAGE RESTORATIONS
We have stories of preservation and care of old heritage buildings around the country. We look back on some projects we have featured over the years, where old houses and cottages were brought back from the brink and in doing so, have helped improve the streetscape of our villages and towns.
DÚN LAOGHAIRE COTTAGES / REPORT BLÁTHNAID NÍ CHOFAIGH
We begin in Dún Laoghaire on the south side of Dublin to hear about a project supported by Local Government, which has given a new lease of life to some old harbour cottages.
PORTRANE COTTAGES / REPORTER BLÁTHNAID NÍ CHOFAIGH
We visit a terrace of houses which were part of the Hospital complex at Portrane in North County Dublin and which had fallen into disrepair in recent years. Over the last two years, Fingal County Council have been involved in restoring these houses which will be made available as family homes.
