Brand new six-part series ‘The End Of The World with Beanz’ will see comedian, writer and traveller Martin Beanz Warde jump head first into the sustainability and climate action challenges facing Ireland today in the hopes of demystifying them not only for himself but for the rest of us as well!
Each week, Martin will be joined by a familiar co-host. Neil Delamere, Roz Purcell, Gearóid Farrelly, Emma Doran, Bernard O’ Shea and Julie Jay each travel with Martin to glamorous and not so glamorous locations as they spend time with those who are making extreme life choices with the aim of saving the planet. What will they make of it all?
Martin is no climate expert. He is as confused as the rest of us, and wants to demystify these massive themes for himself, bringing us and his co-hosts along with him. As the everyman, he is always willing to open up about his own misconceptions and lack of education about climate. On his journey of discovery, he is never afraid to poke fun at himself.
Back on home soil, Martin looks at people changing their behaviours, and encouraging others to do the same, to make a big difference.
Is it the end of the world as we know it, or can we really make changes to our habits and behaviours in time?
Episode 4:
Martin undertakes an epic journey by land and sea to reach the remote island of Gometra in Scotland to meet with Roc Sandford and his family.
He is joined on the island by Roz Purcell as they learn what it really takes to live an off-grid life. Martin travels to Navan to find out more about sustainable funeral options and is back on his home turf of Galway to see the benefits of learning how to repair your own bike.
