The Complaints Bureau

Episode 3

The Complaints Bureau is a new consumer series for RTÉ One. Finance expert Eoin McGee sets the caseload for three consumer journalists advocating and arguing on behalf of members of the public who have hit brick walls. The trio – Conor Pope, Amy Molloy and Siobhan Maguire tackle problems big, small and seemingly intractable. Along the way there are frustrations, dead ends, awkward interviews, cautionary tales and, sometimes at least, successful results.

In the third episode of the series, Conor Pope searches for some hope and reconciliation – and a refund – in over 30 pages of Terms and Conditions attaching to the Italian package holiday booked by Galway woman Orla.

In these days of climate change, we are encouraged to insulate our homes and avail of natural energy. But after an eco refit of his home, Dubliner Brendan was hit with the mysterious case of the vanishing electricity. Siobhan Maguire tries to shine some light on the situation.

And Amy Molloy tries to figure out why two Riverdance fans have been waiting over 18 months for money that their ticket re-seller really wants to give them.
