2023 started on a high as news2day turned 20! President Michael D. Higgins gave them an exclusive interview and answered questions from children all over the country. news2day’s reporters on the day were from Littleton National School in County Tipperary. The President gave them his views on homework, he spoke about overcoming challenges in his own life and told them what his favourite sports are.
During the year news2day reported on the news stories at home like the continuing issue of homelessness and big stories from abroad such as fighting between the Palestinian militant group Hamas and Israel.
news2day was out and about, visiting schools around the country and meeting children who told them all about the many wonderful things they were doing. Everything from art to sport, climate to science, music to mental wellness and so much more.
As always, news2day covered all the big sports stories of the year, local and international news and of course it wouldn’t be news2day without their furry, fishy and feathered friends whose crazy antics gave us all the giggles!
