CLOCH LE CARN: CHRISTY DIGNAM

Celebrating the late, great Christy Dignam, this hour-long documentary looks back at the life and work of one of Ireland’s most charismatic and gifted frontmen, a proud Dub and gifted musician whose talent, humanity and love of life endeared him to the nation.

Longer Billing:

When Christy Dignam was laid to rest after a long illness in June 2023, the streets of Dublin were lined with people paying last respects to a much-loved singer, songwriter, poet and philosopher, proud Dub and even prouder Irishman. This special hour-long edition of Cloch le Carn celebrates the life and work of a charismatic and gifted musician and performer; a spiritual searcher who had shared the highs and lows of his life with us all and who, in doing so, had endeared himself to the nation. Christy’s wife Kathryn and daughter Kiera pay tribute to a much-loved husband and father; while fellow musicians Fiachna Ó Braonáin and Adam Clayton and former RTÉ Arts Correspondent Sinéad Crowley are among those who honour one of Ireland’s great musical talents, a born frontman whose openness, honesty, deep humanity and love for music, Ireland and life were an inspiration to many.
