MONDAY 16TH OCTOBER
Anne Cassin visits Wexford town to learn about positive stories of local people who have struggled with addiction issues but who today, with support, have managed to turn their lives around. The Cornmarket Project has supported upwards of 5,500 clients and their families since it opened its doors in 1999. Nationwide meets those behind this project and some of the men and women whose lives have, literally, been transformed with the help of the project team.
WEDNESDAY 18TH OCTOBER
Presenter Anne Cassin meets people who are living their lives in a sustainable way including a woman in Fermanagh who uses no electricity in her cottage home and a family farm which operates as an Eco farm welcoming visitors from near and far. Eco tourism has given rural Ireland a huge boost over the last few years and Niall Martin reports on The Burren Nature Sanctuary, one of the first to see the potential in giving visitors close encounters with nature.
FRIDAY 20TH OCTOBER
Nationwide re-visits the garden tended to for a number of years by the late TV Gardener Dermot O’Neill in Clondeglass in County Laois which featured in his Secret Garden TV series some years ago. Plus, Síobhan MacSweeney who plays Sister Micheal in Derry Girl’s, brings Nationwide viewers on a journey to visit a garden in County Galway dedicated to the Goddess Brigit.
