RTÉ One will celebrate Culture Night in Donegal on Friday 22nd September.
Musician and host of Radio One’s Folk On One,Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh will present an hour-long live music and arts programme from Dún Lúiche (Dunlewey) in the heart of the Donegal Gaeltacht. In a lakeside setting in the shadow of Mount Errigal, the RTÉ Concert Orchestra will be joined by a host of guest performers from the worlds of post-punk, R&B and indie rock for a feast of music, with guest artists including The Murder Captial, Aby Coulibaly and Olesya Zdorovetska.
Over the waves on beautiful Oileán Árainn Mhór (Arranmore Island) off the Donegal coast, leaders of the current Irish folk revival Ye Vagabonds will perform on the shorefront amphitheatre with guests Mairéad Ní Mhaonaigh and Nia Ní Bheirn. The show will also feature a range of events happening around the country for Culture Night from the worlds of spoken word, poetry, dance and street theatre.
